Fans of the hit Rockstar Games franchise won’t have long to wait until a new Red Dead Redemption 2 launch trailer is released.
Today is the day in which we got another look at the returning Western epic, with the new footage expected to include loads of fresh details.
Rockstar Games has been lifting the lid on their latest project for the past few weeks, offering up tantalising story details and gameplay mechanics.
We now know more about the game’s weapons system, as well as the animals that will be roaming the wild.
So today’s launch trailer will hopefully contain more story elements, as well as details about Red Dead Online.
There’s a chance that this will be skipped, as the new multiplayer mode won’t be going live until November 2018.
Rockstar may choose to dedicate a whole reveal trailer for that, although, that wouldn’t stop them from providing a sneak peek today.
For those wondering what the release time is for the new Red Dead Redemption 2 launch trailer, Rockstar Games has provided those details.
Instead of waiting around the whole day, RDR2 fans can pencil in the new footage going live at 3pm in the UK.
“The Red Dead Redemption 2 Launch Trailer Debuting tomorrow, Thursday, October 18 at 10AM ET,” a message from Rockstar Games confirms.
Another big reveal this week includes when fans can start pre-loading on PS4 and Xbox One.
While there is a special deal in place for some content on PS4, both consoles will have access to the pre-load at the same time.
And because there won’t be any Red Dead Online at launch, fans don’t have to worry about terrible server queues.
Only those who have pre-ordered the game can pre-load Red Dead Redemption 2 onto their console of choice.
Pre-Loads can begin on Friday, October 19, at around 5pm in the UK.
But while fans can start downloading the game later this week, they will have to wait until next week to start reading the first reviews.
According to a new Metacritic tweet, the Red Dead Redemption 2 review embargo lifts on October 25.
“Reviews will start going up on Thursday, October 25 at 4:01am Pacific. Any Metascore predictions for this HIGHLY anticipated title?”
The time difference means that UK fans will find out at 12.01pm BST on Thursday, October 25.
Expectations are high for the game, which will be playable the following day on October 26.
Analysts predict that RDR2 can even replicate some of the success of GTA 5, which continues to have high sales driven by the multiplayer mode included.
“We continue to favour Red Dead for upside this holiday, while our longer-term thesis is unchanged: Take-Two has the biggest runway to benefit from digital shift, [microtransactions] shift, margin expansion and multiple expansion from streaming content deals,” analyst Justin Post writes.
“We are above guidance and have modelled for 18 [million] units, but given [“Grand Theft Auto 5″] success, eight years of development and consumers’ desire for original content, we see upside potential.”
That upside potential will rely on RDR2’s online experience mimicking the success of GTA Online.
