LeBron James: Lakers ace makes Carmelo Anthony trade demand, could replace Michael Beasley

The Lakers after a dismal start to the campaign, have turned things around and they are fifth in the Western Conference standings, boasting a 15-9 record.

James was burdened at the start of the campaign and the four-time MVP was regularly criticised for missing free throws.

Although the Lakers have a younger roster of players, Luke Walton’s side have been picking up injuries with Rajon Rondo (hand) and Brandon Ingram (ankle) on the sidelines.

And according to The Athletic, James wants to see Anthony at the Lakers.

It is suggested that Anthony, who left the Houston Rockets, could help mould the Lakers and make them more formidable.

With the signing of Michael Beasley not working out, Anthony could be a good replacement.

Anthony, however, has been out of action for more than a month.

The ten-time NBA All-Star has been backed to find a new team quickly.

“Part of the reason Houston is holding on to Carmelo Anthony right now is financial,” ESPN pundit Adrian Wojnarowski said.

“Carmelo is going to be back in the league this year, I have no doubt.

“I think there will be a job for him.

“How significant of a role? That remains to be seen.”
