Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham were the favourites from the beginning in Love Island and went onto become victorious.
But four months since been crowned the winners after becoming boyfriend and girlfriend in the villa, the two have called it quits.
Dani, 22, released a statement on her Instagram account tonight where she informed her 3.4 million followers they had split up.
The daughter of EastEnders actor Danny Dyer, said the two plan to remain friends.
The message read: ”Jack & I have sadly decided to part ways.
“It’s been an incredible 6 months, and we will always have a place in our hearts for each other, but sadly we’ve come to the realisation that it’s not meant to be long term.
“We both plan to stay friends. I hope you’ll all understand. Love Dani x”
The Love Island winners had recently moved in together and took their relationship to the next level by getting a dog.
The two captured the hearts of the nation on the ITV2 show after hitting it off from the first episode.
Dani and Jack stayed together right up until the end where they won the big prize of £50,000.
Since they left the villa, the pair hadn’t stopped posting loved-up snaps to their Instagram accounts.
And their split comes after Jack insisted it wouldn’t be long until he got down on one knee to propose.
He recently told The Sun: “We’re getting married next year, 100 per cent. Like my mum said to me so many times, ‘When you know about someone, you just know.’
“And now I know what she’s talking about. I just know that’s what we want to do.”
Yesterday, Dani revealed she was releasing her very own autobiography after finding fame on the reality show.
Her book will detail her life before the programme and everything else since she met Jack in the villa.
She enthused: “So excited for you all to read my book in April. I never thought in a million years I would do my own book.
“I am so excited to put my feelings and words onto a bit of paper and just be myself.
“I have opened up on life before love island, rejection, heartache, and things that have made me who I am today!”
Dani and Jack will be reuniting with their fellow Islanders in a Christmas special later this month.
Love Island: The Christmas Reunion will air on Monday, December 17 on ITV2 at 9pm.
