The next Call of Duty Black Ops 4 beta is about to begin on PS4 and Xbox One.
The first Black Ops 4 beta was a PS4 exclusive, but the second beta will be available on PlayStation and Xbox from 6pm UK time on August 10.
The only problem is that you’ll need an invite code if you want to play.
Fortunately, however, there is a way to get a free code without pre-ordering , although there is a catch.
Xfinity Internet customers can get a free Black Ops 4 beta code by visiting the website and requesting a code.
The only downside is that the offer is only available to customers in the US.
Xfinity Internet customers have until 11.59pm ET to request code, and have been told that they potentially face a 24-hour wait.
If you don’t live in the US and aren’t an Xfinity internet customer, getting a Call of Duty beta code will cost you.
To get a beta code, just pre-order a copy of Call of Duty Black Ops 4 online or in store.
If you pre-order a physical copy of the game, you’ll have to redeem a code on the Call of Duty Black Ops 4 beta website. Most codes can be found on the printed receipt, or will be emailed over.
If you pre-ordered digitally – from PSN or Xbox Live, for example – then you’ll automatically be entered into the beta program.
The Black Ops 4 beta contains 16 weapons, as well as a handful of game modes.
This includes Call of Duty’s signature new game mode Control, which aims to “bring out the best of tactical Specialist gameplay”.
Chaos Team Deathmatch is a playlist incorporating Team Deathmatch and Kill Confirmed.
The Capture Moshpit playlist, meanwhile, features fast-paced modes such as Domination and Hardpoint. There’s also Search and Destroy, which is a slower paced affair where strategy is key.
A grand total of six maps can be played as part of the beta test, including Frequency, Contraband, Seaside and Payload.
